SOP: Setting Up Domains in High Level Platform

Objective:

To set up domains in the HighLevel platform for various functionalities such as calendar links, email services, and funnels/websites.

Key Steps:

1. Branded Domain Setup:

   • Identify the default agency domain for calendar links.

   • Create a branded domain for calendar links.

   • Update API domain to the branded domain.

   • Add CNAME record in DNS settings for the branded domain.

   • Verify the DNS records.

2. Email Services Domain Setup:

   • Identify the default agency mailing domain.

   • Create a dedicated domain for email services.

   • Add TXT, SPF, MXA, MXB, and DMARC records in DNS settings for the email domain.

   • Verify the DNS records.

3. Setting Up Domains for Funnels/Websites:

   • Add a subdomain for funnels/websites.

   • Add a CNAME record in DNS settings for the subdomain.

   • Verify the DNS records.

4. Linking Domains to Funnels:

   • Link the subdomain to a specific funnel page.

   • Set the root of the domain to redirect to the desired page.

Cautionary Notes:

• Ensure you have admin access to the client's DNS records for setting up domains.

• Double-check the domain entries in DNS settings to avoid errors.

• Verify DNS records after adding them, as it may take some time for verification.

Tips for Efficiency:

• Use the "add record manually" option if you don't have automatic access to DNS records.

• Speed up the process by adding DNS records in a systematic order.

• Keep track of the domains set up for different functionalities to avoid confusion.

• Regularly check and update domains as needed to maintain functionality and prevent issues.
